GCT coaches look back on 2009-10 season

Four days after the Golden Eagles lost in the second round of the state tournament, Greene County Tech boys basketball coaches Scott Bowlin and Greg Richey sat in their office at Reynolds Fieldhouse unable to describe how they were feeling. At this time during the last three years, the coaches would normally be making preparations to make the trip to Hot Springs because the Golden Eagles would be playing in the Class 5A state finals.

Crowley’s Ridge Academy won both ends of a high school softball doubleheader over Ridgefield Christian on Monday, defeating the Lady Warriors 10-6 and 5-0.

Three Rivers Community College baseball coach Stacey Burkey said one of the needs the Raiders will have next season will be in the outfield. By signing Paragould High School senior center fielder Trent Wooldridge Tuesday, he may have filled that need.

MARMADUKE — The Marmaduke Lady Greyhounds rallied from a 16-7 deficit to down Piggott 24-20 in the Lady Greyhounds’ softball debut on Monday.

McCoy leads CRA to 7-1 win over Ridgefield

Crowley’s Ridge Academy sophomore A.J. McCoy struck out 10 batters and hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give the Falcons a 7-1 victory over the Ridgefield Christian Warriors Monday at CRA.

CRC sweeps doubleheader

Crowely’s Ridge College swept a baseball doubleheader over visiting Lincoln Christian College behind the piching of Jay Beacham and Tim Nix on Monday.

CRA baseball team back on the diamond in 2010

After taking last season off, the Crowley’s Ridge Academy Falcons baseball team will be getting back on the diamond this season. Coach Wayne Freer said his young team is anxious to take the field again after shutting out Black Rock, 7-0, on Tuesday despite giving up two walks and one error with four different pitchers.

GCT Football Camp kicks off March 22

Greene County Tech Youth League Spring Break Football Camp will be held March 22-24 from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. for students in kindergartern through seventh grade.
